Revised: Constitution and By-Laws for Sands Parent Advisory Council |
Dear Sands Parents,
The Parent Advisory Committee needs your HELP!!!Due to funding cuts of $7500.00 .We need to raise funds for Sands Secondary Students. After finalizing this year’s budget the PAC and fundraising committee have three main areas that they will focus their fundraising efforts on this year.
#1 A large screen T.V. with cable system that will be hook up to a computer ,this will allow for better communication with students ,parents and the school on everything that’s going on around the school .This T.V. will be located in the front hall of the school. #2 The Library (Books and computer) our library is well used by our students and is an important area that needs continued funding. #3 The Grad committee, recognizing and celebrating our grads achievement.
These are areas that were affected by the funding cuts. Parent and community participation is needed for use to meet are goal of $4235.00 We will run two fundraisers M&M Meats and FunScrip (gift cards).We will continue to fundraise until are goal is reached.
For those parents that would rather make a donation on behalf of your child/children rather than be involved in fundraisers , if we received $10.00 per child there are 750 students we would make up the $7500.00 that has been cut from our funding. Cheques can be made payable to Sands Secondary PAC and sent to the school office.
This year Sands Secondary PAC has been asking for parent feedback in how we should raise funds and how parents would best like to support the PAC’s fundraising efforts. Thank you to all the parents that filled out the questionnaire.
All fundraising Order forms will be on the school web site or you can pick up a copy at the school outside the front office.
