Genesis Theatre is a high-quality performing arts facility operated by Delta School District, an ideal venue for concerts, dance, drama, lectures, and large presentations.  Its mission is to support and promote local British Columbia performing artists;  to build a community that supports the performing arts within Delta;  and to develop a following of local patrons, in order to build support for the performing arts in our community.

Facilities

Recently updated, Genesis Theatre is designed and equipped as a performing arts facility featuring:

  • full, fly stage
  • cushioned stage floor
  • 388 newly upgraded seats in a steeply raked house
  • excellent acoustics
  • good lighting and sound support

Ancillary facilities include:

  • 2 large dressing rooms, both with make-up positions, shower, and adjoining washrooms
  • box office, upgraded lobby, and foyer, including facilities for small exhibitions and displays

Genesis Theatre is available for Community Use on weekends, holidays, and on school-day evenings after 5:00 PM, including:

Genesis Theatre has minimum staffing requirements, which are at the expense of the Renter. Genesis Theatre is not responsible for marketing the Presenter’s event.  A Security Deposit is required at time of booking.

Terms & Conditions

Terms And Conditions Governing Use Of Genesis Theatre

All rental groups must agree to the “Terms and Conditions Governing Use of School Facilities”, which are provided with the rental agreement. This form outlines policies on damage, accident and liability insurance, supervision, fire safety, use of equipment, liquor licences, and pre-emption of use. Weekend rentals are subject to an additional charge to provide security and custodial services. When the rental of a Delta School District facility involves a paid public performance featuring live or recorded music, renters are responsible for reporting and paying all license fees required by SOCAN or any other applicable performing rights body.
