Drinking Water Information: Water Quality Testing for Lead in Schools
In accordance with the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care regulations, all school districts are required to conduct lead testing in the water systems of school facilities every three years. The Delta School District has an annual testing program, where each year, one-third of the district’s schools are tested on a rotating three-year cycle to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Water samples are collected and submitted to an accredited laboratory for analysis. The results are evaluated to confirm that lead concentrations remain below the maximum allowable limits, ensuring the continued safety and well-being of students and staff.
