Learn how to be safe online

September 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Delta School District invites families and staff to attend a livestream presentation on internet safety by social media educator Jesse Miller on Wednesday, September 30 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

As school systems around the world scrambled in the spring of 2020, screen time proved it can be a useful tool for teaching and learning. With a new school year beginning, we want to pause and consider the role that technology plays in our lives as parents, children, teachers and learners.

This presentation will engage in current thinking about youth, technology and social media, while sharing ideas and supports to help your family consider balanced technology use in the home.

You can watch the online presentation here: www.deltalearns.ca/internetsafety

No registration or login is required. Attendees have the opportunity to send in questions and topics for discussion ahead of time.

If you are not available to watch the livestream, the presentation will be recorded and made available online afterwards.

About the presenter:

For the better part of a decade, Jesse Miller has been a preferred choice of social media education in Western Canada. Featured in hundreds of schools across the country, in partnership with school districts and independent schools, Jesse’s speaking engagements focus on presenting an exciting and educationally sound social media conversation that promotes an active and relevant social media education dialogue with parents and students.
