April 2026: Special Public Board Meeting: Budget Input

The draft budget recommendations were released on Thursday, April 16. You can view them here.

You will be able to provide feedback on them in the following ways:

  • Attend the Special Public Board Meeting for Budget Input on Tuesday, April 21. The meeting will immediately follow the Regular Board Meeting taking place that evening, and is expected to begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. To sign up to speak at the Special Public Board Meeting, please email kaquino@deltaschools.ca by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 20.
  • Complete the online survey before noon on Monday, April 20
  • Send an email to budget@deltaschools.ca before noon on Monday, April 20.

Message from Board Chair Joe Muego – Budget Consultation Process

Each year around this time, the Delta School District begins developing the budget for the upcoming school year. Your voice plays an important role in this work, and we invite all families, staff, students, partners, rights‑holders and community members to take part in the consultation process.

As in previous years, you can provide input through an online survey, email, regular mail, or your school’s PAC.

You’ll have two key opportunities to share feedback:

  • Tell us your general priorities by March 13.
  • Respond to the draft budget recommendations between April 16–21.

Each year at this time, the Delta School District is required to start developing a balanced budget for the upcoming school year. Your feedback is important and so we encourage all families, staff, partners and rights-holders to participate in this process.The budget planning process follows a similar timeline each year.
Within the above budget calendar there are two distinct opportunities for people to share feedback –on their general budget priorities (February 18 – March 13, 2026) and on the specific draft budget recommendations (April 16 – April 21, 2026). Stay tuned for more information on the various ways you can provide your feedback.

Additional resources

Detailed financial information going back several years can be found on the district’s website here(Click on the orange + beside a timeframe to view the reports available).

Two reports that you may find helpful are:

  • Financial Statement Discussion and Analysis. The report is released annually in September and provides a summary of the district’s financial activities (where funding came from and where it was spent) for the previous school year. The most recent report available is for the 2024/2025 school year, which ended on June 30, 2025. The 2025/2026 report will be published in September 2026.
  • Multi-Year Budget Report. This report is released annually in April and outlines the district’s anticipated expenses and revenues for the upcoming three years. It is used to help with long-term planning and resource allocation. The most recent report available is for the 2025/2026 school year. The next report (2026/2027) will be published in April 2026.
