Dear Delta Students, Families and Staff,
Welcome to the 2026/2027 school year.
We hope you had a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. After a longer than normal summer break, we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 8 and seeing our schools and district sites once again come alive with your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm.
The year ahead will bring new opportunities for learning, growth, achievement, and connection. We encourage all students to return rested, refreshed, and ready to give their very best effort. Success is built not only on talent and ability, but also on perseverance, commitment, and a willingness to learn from challenges.
In a rapidly changing world, we remain committed to creating learning environments where every student and staff member feels a strong sense of belonging, connection, and purpose. By embracing compassion, responsibility, integrity, creativity, diversity, and resilience, we can support one another in pursuing personal excellence, nurturing well-being, and achieving shared success. Our Vision for 2030 calls for our schools to be places where curiosity is encouraged, different perspectives are respected, and meaningful relationships help learners to develop their individual potential and to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to contribute to a healthy society and a prosperous and sustainable economy.
We invite you to consider how you can contribute to building an innovative and inclusive community at your school or district site. Together, let’s make Delta School District a place of connection, belonging, and opportunity for all.
Wishing all Delta students, families, and staff a successful, rewarding, and exciting year ahead.
Sincerely,
Joe Muego, Chair, Delta Board of Education and Doug Sheppard, Superintendent of Schools
