30th anniversary of Delview’s Thanks 4 Giving Food Drive a Huge Success

Category: DistrictSchool

Despite the dark and stormy weather, students at Delview Secondary achieved their impressive goal of collecting more than 20,000 non-perishable food items from homes and businesses all across North Delta during their annual Thanks 4 Giving food drive on October 27.

Thanks 4 Giving is one of the largest single-night food drives in B.C. This year’s event was the 30th annual food drive organized by Delview students. The food items collected are donated to the Surrey Food Bank and Deltassist to help local families. Since its inception in 1992, the event has collected more than 440,000 non-perishable food items.

This year’s final tally rang in at 21,561 non-perishable food items for local food banks.
