Delta Firefighters are encouraging students to use their creativity to highlight the people they are thankful for from across many different industries who are working hard to help others during these challenging times in a new community fundraising initiative.
Delta Firefighters will make a $10 donation to the school district’s Food Security Program for every submission received. In addition, the contest winners will receive a $100 gift card to a local business of their choice and have their artwork displayed throughout the City of Delta.
Based on their age, students have a choice of colouring in posters, sending in a written submission or creating their own thank you poster. More information on this fun contest is available on the Delta Firefighters website – http://www.deltafirefighters.com/creativestudents/
“We are so thankful to Delta Firefighters for supporting our Food Security Program in this way. Currently, the program supports more than 175 families each week, and unfortunately, we are seeing that need continue to grow,” said Doug Sheppard, Superintendent of Schools. “Our firefighters continue to bring hope and connection to Delta. As pillars of our community, they continue to connect those who are able to support with those in need. They are important role models and we are extremely grateful for their efforts to encourage students to help people in need in Delta with this initiative.”
