Delta School District Celebrates Pride Season

Category: District

Pride Season is a term that refers to the wide range of Pride events that take place over the summer (June to September) when LGBTQ2+ communities and allies come together to spotlight the resilience, celebrate the talent and recognize the contributions of LGBTQ2+ communities.

The Delta School District also recognizes and supports Pride Month in June of each year. The district remains committed to establishing and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for all students and employees. Our Vision for 2030 is to be an innovative, inclusive community where all learners belong and everyone soars. It is our mission to inspire and nurture thriving, future-ready learner. We recognize that equity and inclusion are foundational to learning success and good mental and physical well-being.

Students celebrated Pride Week with a range of activities and initiatives in the middle of May. The rainbow flag was raised at the School Board Office in Ladner on May 17, to mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and will stay raised until the end of June.
