Delta School District is Recruiting Homestay Families

Category: District

Delta School District International Programs is currently recruiting homestay families for international students coming to the Delta School District for September 2026 (the majority of them will arrive on August 29th and 30th). We are in the process of placing students and are looking for homes that want to welcome a student who has chosen Delta as their study abroad experience.

For the seventh consecutive year, Delta School District International Student Programs was nominated for the Study Travel High School District Secondary School Award. After winning the grand prize last year, we are proud to have been named runner-up this year to a province-wide program in the Maritimes.

This important recognition reflects the outstanding role homestay families play in shaping students’ experiences abroad. Their dedication and care are a key reason Delta remains a top choice for international students. We share our accolades with our incredible homestay families and warmly invite more families to join our community by hosting an international student with Delta School District.

From September 2026, the reimbursement for hosting a student will increase to $1,300 per month. Multiple students from different nationalities can be hosted in one home. The majority of students in the homestay program are from Germany, Japan, Spain, Italy, and Brazil. At the moment, around 20 different countries are represented in the homestay program.

Many students are looking for a family connection and being a part of a family, in an English-speaking environment, during their stay in Delta. Their study periods range from three months to half a school year, to a full school year, to multiple years.
