Delta Secondary students came together on Tuesday, May 19, for the annual Relay for Life, raising over $22,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. The powerful, student-led event united the school community in supporting cancer research, honouring survivors, and remembering loved ones lost to the disease.
From 12:30-5:30p.m., students walked the track in teams, symbolizing perseverance and the ongoing fight against cancer. In addition, a Remembrance Ceremony gave students and staff a chance to pause and honour those lives lost to cancer.
“I am so proud of the organization and dedication shown by our group of student leaders over the past several months. The event was a huge success, all for an amazing cause,” said teacher-sponsor Kristin Visscher, Delta Secondary.
