Indigenous Education Department Hosts Upcoming Community Gatherings

Uy skweyul, Tansi, Oki, Aniin, Hau, Hello Parents/Guardians,

We want to share with you some of the changes to our Indigenous Education Department and also invite you to our Community Gatherings. Our goal is to build learning environments and relationships that will lead to success for all our kids.

This year we are building our team to include a variety of new roles:

Indigenous Success Coordinators (Elementary and Secondary) – Support students’ academic success and assist teachers in incorporating Aboriginal perspectives into the new curriculum.

Child and Youth Care Workers – Provide social and emotional support for students and connect with families.

Indigenous Cultural Enhancement Facilitators – Bring cultural experiences to the classrooms for all learners.

Primary Literacy Coordinator (Indigenous) – Ensure early literacy success for students.

We would love to meet you at one of our upcoming Community Gatherings. Supper will be provided and children are welcome. For your convenience we are offering two dates and locations:

North End: November 23, 2016               South End: November 30, 2016                                         Location:  East Delta Hall                        Tsawwassen First Nation Community Hall
