Congratulations to Seaquam students who won 7 out of a possible 18 awards in the high school category at the recent YRE Canada Competition, a national environmental education program that offers youth the opportunity to raise awareness and advocacy on local environmental/climate issues through critical thinking, creativity, and reporting.
There are three categories – video, photography and writing, and two age groups, 11-14 and 15-18. Participants investigate and report on environmental issues, and propose solutions, by using video, photography, or writing.

This year’s 1st place winners will receive a prize package from National Geographic and will become Canada’s official entry in the 2025 International YRE competition http://www.yre.global/ against winners from other nations. The YRE international competition winners will be announced later this year from the competition headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
