Learning is a life-long process and the provision of appropriate continuing learning opportunities enhances the quality of community life and the personal development of community members of all ages.
The Continuing Education branch of Delta School District focuses on:
- Programs that offer the community cultural, recreational, academic, and vocational opportunities.
- Programs, in cooperation with other agencies, organizations and institutes, which address community needs.
- Coordination and promotion of the effective community use of schools.
Delta Continuing Education offers a wide range of courses year-round throughout the community. Programs include adult basic education, home-school partnership, a variety of high school completion choices, workplace and computer training, first aid, youth activities, and personal development. In addition, the branch manages the rental/ licensing of District facilities and operates a number of government-funded programs including ELSA (English Language Services for Adults), and the Life Skills Program.
Delta Continuing Education is a winner of the Canada Post Literacy Leadership Award, a national award recognizing achievement, community impact, innovation, and organizational excellence in the field of literacy education.
