Summer Learning

Summer Learning 2026

Registration for current Delta School District students will be open April 23^rd at 10:00 am until June 26^th at 2:00 pm

Students that reside in Delta and attend an out of District or Independent school registration opens May 4^th.

If space is remaining registration will open to all out of District students on May 25^th.

Registration for current Delta students, residents and out of district students will be available online.

International students must register using the paper registration, please see your International Coordinator.

Summer learning programmes move at an accelerated pace, attendance in these programmes is mandatory. Accommodations for planned absences cannot be made; on the third absence the student will be withdrawn.

While we understand the importance of personal events such as family vacations, weddings and sports tournaments/activities, due to the condensed nature of learning and coursework, full attendance is required and exceptions cannot be made.

Summer learning is provided free of charge to students who normally reside in British Columbia. International students are charged a fee at registration.

Grades 10-12 Full Credit Academic Courses:

DATE: July 2^nd – July 31^st
TIMES: 8:20am – 12:00pm and/or 12:30pm – 4:10pm
PLACE: North Delta Secondary or Delta Secondary (Ladner)

• Students can take up to 2 Full credit courses, one AM and one PM
• Complete a grad requirement, upgrade a course mark or lighten next year’s academic load
• Pre-requisite – student must have confirmed course choice with Counselor
• Student/Parent register online
• International students register using paper registration, return to your International Coordinator

Grades 8 and 9 Course Completion: Math or English Language Arts

DATE: July 6^th – July 17^th
TIME: 9:00am – 1:00pm
PLACE: North Delta Secondary or Delta Secondary (Ladner)

• For students needing to repeat the course – not a preview or advancement course
• For students that have not met the learning outcomes in the course during the current year
• Recommended students should be close to meeting the learning outcomes
• School Counselors must facilitate registrations
• Students will be given the Emerging mark to move into Grade 9/10 course the next school year
• Full attendance required; on second absence student will be withdrawn

Grades 8 – 12 ELL Enrichment:

DATE: July 6^th – July 24^th
TIME: 9:00am – 12:00pm
PLACE: Burnsview Secondary (North Delta)

• Students must have a current ELL designation at their school
• Students must be going into Grade 8-12 in September 2026
• Opportunity to improve writing, reading, vocabulary and discussion skills
• International students please see International ELL programs

Grades 1 – 7 Literacy & Numeracy Foundations

Session 1

Session 2

DATE: July 20^th – July 31^st
TIME: 9:00am – 1:00pm

• Students can only take ONE summer learning program
• FULL attendance required; on third absence student will be withdrawn
• Students must have completed Kindergarten
• Students going into Grade 7 in September 2026 are eligible, current Grade 7 students are not eligible
• Opportunity to improve writing, reading, vocabulary, discussion skills and numeracy
• International students register with International Student programs

French Transitions

DATE: July 6^th – July 17^th
TIME: 9:00am – 1:00pm
PLACE: Burnsview Secondary (North Delta)

• Students entering Grade 8 French Immersion – MUST be a current French Immersion student
• Focus on academic and social transition to Secondary School
• Full attendance required; on third absence student will be withdrawn
• Parents register online
