Summer School Registration

Summer Learning 2021

 Registration will be open from April 26 to June 24

Registration is for Delta residents only

Programmes:

  1. Grades 10 – 12 Full Credit Academic Courses: July 5 to August 6; 8.30 to 12 noon (online registrations only); North Delta Secondary and Delta Secondary

**Due to COVID restrictions, students may register for ONE course only. Those wishing to take a second course are directed to Delta Access where students can register no later than June 25

Please know that Delta Access courses are NOT condensed and cover a larger portion of the curriculum than in Summer School.  Therefore, we recommend you begin your Delta Access course as soon as possible!

  1. Grades 8 and 9 Remedial – English, Social Studies, Science, Math (for students who did not successfully complete); July 12 to July 29; 8.30 – 11.30; North Delta and Delta Secondary
  2. Grades 1 – 7 English Language Learners (focus on literacy and numeracy); Richardson Elementary; 9.00 am to 1.00 pm:

Session One: July 5 to July 16 – FULL

Session Two: July 19 to July 30 – FULL

  1. Grades 8 – 12 English Language Learners:

July 5 to 23; 8:30 to 11:30; (North End School to be determined)

Because Summer Learning Programmes move at an accelerated pace, attendance in these programmes is mandatory. Accommodations for planned absences cannot be made.

Please know that while we are planning to have classes run in a face-to face learning environment, we ask that students be prepared to switch to a hybrid (a mix of online and face-to-face learning) or completely remote (all online) environment if the need arises.

ELL Grade 1-7

An innovative and enriching program for elementary students, the 2 Week ELL summer school program will provide students with the opportunity to improve writing, reading, vocabulary, and discussion skills. All programs are Monday to Friday.

ELL Enrichment Grade 8-12 (3 week)

An innovative and enriching program for ELL students, the 3 Week ELL summer school program will provide students with the opportunity to improve writing, reading, vocabulary, and discussion skills. These are educational programs taught by experienced ELL teachers. All programs are Monday to Friday at North Delta Secondary School- 11447 82 Ave., North Delta

ELL Enrichment Grade 8-12 (3 week) for International Students

Grade 8-9 Enrichment (3 week)

An innovative and enriching program for Grade 8 and 9 students, the 3 Week Enrichment summer school program will provide students with the opportunity to improve numeracy and literacy skills. These are educational programs reviewing and preparing for the next school year. This program is a non-credit course.

Grade 8-9 Skill Building

Skill Building courses are available to students that have been enrolled in a course(s) during the regular 2020/2021 academic year and have not successfully met the requirements of the course.  Students must have completed the course with a final mark between 40 and 49%.  Any student who has withdrawn from the academic course is ineligible for admission into that course in Skill Building summer school.
