A child may be registered to attend Kindergarten in September if his or her fifth birthday occurs on or before December 31st of the current year. Kindergarten Registration usually takes place in February of each year.

At the time of registration, the following original documents must be provided:
- Proof of birth date for the student (birth certificate or passport) (registration will not be accepted until proof of birth date is received)
- Proof of citizenship for both the parent and the student (Canadian birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, landed immigrant document, permanent resident card)
- Immunization record, Care Card, medical and emergency contact information
- Proof of Residency (Property Taxes – current receipt, purchase/rental agreement or rental receipt)

If a parent wishes for a child to attend a different school other than their catchment area school, a non-catchment application form should be completed and submitted online or to their catchment area school. Schools will hold non-catchment forms until approved by the Assistant Superintendent. Approvals will be processed as soon as possible, but may be held until the second week of September, therefore, parents should register their child at their catchment area school to ensure a placement. No approval of non-catchment requests may be given at the school level.
Non-district students applying for Kindergarten in Delta must complete a non-district application form and submit it online or to the requested school. Schools will forward this form to the Assistant Superintendents’ Office. Parents of non-school district students should be advised that a decision regarding entry into the Delta Kindergarten program may not be made until the second week of September, therefore, should register at their catchment area school to ensure a placement. The Assistant Superintendents’ Office will notify each school of the successful non-school district applicants. Once the school has received approval from the Assistant Superintendents’ Office, non-school district students may then register at the designated school.
Non-catchment and non-district applications will be accepted commencing February 5, 2018 and will receive priority in the respective category if received prior to March 9, 2018. Please fill out one Non-Catchment or Non-District Application form only. If you have a second and/or third choice, please make note of them on the same form and in order of preference.
Please note: Due to space restrictions, Gray and Richardson Elementary Schools will only be accepting Non-Catchment and Non-District Applications for those students who have siblings already attending the school.
Application forms for the Early French Immersion Program are available at all French Immersion elementary schools, at the French Immersion Parent Information Meetings, and online. Completed application forms for entry into Early French Immersion are to be delivered only to the French Immersion school in your attendance area, as indicated on the application form, on or before 4:00pm, Friday, February 3, 2017. Successful applicants will be notified by the school the week following the application deadline, and will be advised of the registration procedure. Parents are highly encouraged to attend a French Immersion Parent Information Meeting in January. If you would like to attend a Traditional Elementary School, please register at your catchment area school and indicate that you are requesting Traditional school. If you are requesting a Traditional School other than your catchment Traditional School, you must submit a Non-Catchment application form. If you are not a resident of Delta, you must submit a Non-District application form. Non-Catchment and Non-District applications will be accepted on or after February 5, 2018. Applications for Montessori are being accepted at Devon Gardens Elementary on February 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Montessori is a free of charge program available to all Delta primary aged children. For your convenience, you may attend any Delta elementary school to register for Montessori at Devon Gardens Elementary. Please indicate you are choosing Montessori when registering.
