Happy Holidays from the Delta School District and Board of Education.
Schools will be closed from December 19 until January 2, with classes resuming on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
A Message from Doug Sheppard, Superintendent of Schools
I am thankful we have been able to resume to almost normal school operations this fall after more than two years of navigating continued changes due to the pandemic. It’s easy to forget just how disruptive the pandemic was to our lives and, more specifically, to the experience our students have had in school.
Now, more than ever, our Vision for 2030 of creating an innovative, inclusive community where all learners belong and everyone soars is vitally important, and I know it is the focus of our educators and district staff. On a daily basis, I am thrilled to see staff and students living our values and putting the words and themes of our Vision into action.
While it’s been fabulous to get back to doing the things we all love, it feels like we’ve gone from 0-60 in the blink of an eye! These past few months have been exceptionally busy for staff and students, and I know they are all looking forward to the change of pace that comes with the winter break.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or the turn of the season this December, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season, and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Doug Sheppard
Superintendent, Delta School District
