So far this school year, Seaquam Secondary has had a great deal to celebrate! Students have excelled in multiple sports this fall and winter capturing three South Fraser Banners in different sports.
In November 2022, the AAAA Girls Volleyball team won the South Fraser Championships and finished seventh in the Provincials. Volleyball team member Simran Rai also achieved success on the school’s swim team having won the Senior Girls banner at the South Fraser Regionals, placing first in the 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Fly and 100 Individual Medley. Simran also won two gold medals and one silver medal in the provincials.
More recently, in February 2023, the Senior Girls Basketball team won the South Fraser Championship. They are seeded 5th in the AAAA Provincial Championships being held at the Langley Event Centre from March 1-4.
“Our Seaquam Senior girls are so strong this year,” said Sheryl Murrell, Coach. “The volleyball and basketball teams are made up of different girls; there’s only one player who played on both teams – it’s great to see so many girls contributing to our school’s success in sports.”
