COVID-19 Safety Poster Contest a Great Success

Category: DistrictSchool

Students at Ladner and Port Guichon Elementary Schools had fun creating posters to promote COVID-19 health and safety precautions during a recent contest at their schools.

“More than 150 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 entered the contest, and I was overwhelmed by the creative and inspiring submissions that we received,” said Ryan Haight, Child and Youth Care Worker at Delta School District, who came up with the idea for the contest. “Since returning to school, our students have done an amazing job of practicing physical distancing, washing their hands regularly and wearing masks when required. This contest was intended as a fun activity to help reinforce how we can all work together to keep ourselves, our families and our communities healthy and safe. It’s reassuring to see just how seriously our students are taking COVID-19. As well as brightening the hallways, their beautiful artwork is a helpful reminder of how to stay safe during the pandemic.”

Well done to the primary and intermediate students who won the contest, with each student receiving a $20 gift card.
