The 2nd annual youth Soap Box Derby was held earlier this summer with students form across the district racing towards go-cart glory on 6th Avenue in Tsawwassen.
A big thank you goes out to the Industry Training Authority (ITA) who purchased four car kits for Delview students to build. The unique event was a fundraiser by and for Rotary Rotary Club of Tsawwassen, and was a huge success.
Lisa Ayton, Youth and Outreach Leader at ITA, says is a great way to engage students, but wouldn’t happen with out the commitment form the schools and community. “Thanks Rotary for doing this and thanks to Dedicated Trades and Tech Teachers, like Mark [Brown], who bring it all to life and make it happen for students to learn by ‘doing’”
