Delta students performed well at the South Fraser Regional Science Fair at KPU recently. 15 out of the 125 students who participated were from the Delta School District, representing Chalmers Elementary, Devon Gardens Elementary, Heath Elementary, Sunshine Hills Elementary, Delta Secondary, Sands Secondary, Seaquam Secondary. Several Delta students received awards:
- Devna Dipu Pillai from Heath Elementary received the BC Greenhouse Growers’ Association Award ($75) https://partner.projectboard.world/ysc/project/191750
- Amare Pooni from Sands Secondary received the BC Nature Award ($100) and the Advanced Systems Integrators Award ($100) https://partner.projectboard.world/ysc/project/187052

The district’s grand winner is Grade 10 student Prabhleen Randhawa from Seaquam Secondary. She will be representing the school at the Canada Wide Science Fair in Fredericton New Brunswick on 31 May – 7 June. You can view her project here: https://partner.projectboard.world/ysc/project/182209
Vice Chair Val Windsor and Trustee Nimmi Daula from the Delta Board of Education were in attendance to see the students and their projects.
